Human Rights |and Women
The Beijing Conference reaffirmed that the full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms by women and girl children, is essential for the advancement of women. It stressed that governments must not only refrain from violating the human rights of women, but must work actively for the promotion and protection of their rights. This idea of positive action in relation to human rights is echoed in the Preamble to the South African Constitution. The South Africa constitution through the Bill of Right has articulated the Rights to all South Africans; the right to equality is paramount and non –derogable....

Ilitha Labantu as part of her ongoing effort on gender based violence and to raise public awareness about the plight of human trafficking victims in the township and rural communities.
