Life sentence for Luvuyo Gerald Hendricks

Ilitha Labantu welcomes the life sentence imposed on Luvuyo Gerald Hendricks who in 2016 raped and sexually assaulted a 15 year old girl with special needs. Hendricks who is also a pastor and respected member of the community, was employed as a school driver when he took advantage of the teenage girl. As an organization we appeal to the justice system to treat all cases of violence against women and children with the same level of seriousness and urgency they deserve.
